Do We Even Have a Congress???????

21 Dec

I was raised to believe the U. S. didn’t start wars, and it was mostly true. We did try our very best to take advantage of the misfortunes or other countries. That was wrong, but it was sanctioned by our congress.

However, now we are attacking people at sea, taking extraordinary actions for a single shooter, actually attempting to steal oil.

My suggestion would be to not reelect anyone who is now or ever served in public office and limit every office to 2 terms.

Our President is taking the reigns too far, and congress is not stopping him. The presidential office was never designed. It was signed to elect a leader of professional workers in our government.

The politicians who call themselves republicans are not. They are Trump followers. Their are too many people not voting because they think their vote doesn’t count.

Too Much Power Breads Coruption

4 Dec

Yesterday an election was held in the Nashville, Tennessee area. The Republicans won but not like they should have. The Democrats could have done more to get the vote if they had a better candidate. The difference was the independent’s vote.

The independent vote is like my vote. We have to vote for the candidate that will do the least harm. Lest harm is the key, but how can we determine that? There is no way. Candidates can say anything, but it isn’t a contract. We wish it were a contract, but it is not. Unless we people find a way to control the power, we will be under the most influential party.

There was a movie long ago titled “Mr. Smith goes to Washington”. It demonstrated to the public, in a small way, that corruption rules. About twenty year ago the was a book “I was a hit man for the CIA” which showed how strong we are in the world.

These are examples of real corruption sanction by people that were not elected but given the power by the candidates we did elect. This how far from a founding fathers we had come. Only the voters can change that.

Is Our Congress for us or against us

1 Dec

I was a Democrat until about 10 years ago when I decided neither party put our interest before the party’s interest. I became an independent. I did this because neither is following the basic principles of humanity. The Republican Party favors the high rollers, company or individual. The Democratic Party favors the oppressed and working middle class which is good if it is not over done. People should work if they are able, the Democratic Party fights over items that has nothing to do with governing.

Main reason I became independent is abortion. Basic principle that cover this is when a child is born in the US, it is a citizen of the US. So we killed a citizen because someone does not know how to manage birth control. We didn’t kill a child, but we killed million of them.

Our congress solved the drug problem by putting the users in jail.

Our congress solved the mentally ill problem by ignoring the possibility treatment.

Our congress solved the gang problem by keeping the minimum wage so low a young person felt the gangs would help them more than the government would.

Our congress let our nation’s debt rise to an amounthigher than we could pay if a demand was made.

Our congress let the military expenditure get total out of control approving of cost plus contracts for item we don’t need.

Our congress approved the redirection of the Social Security Lock Box to finance the start of our interstate system.

There are many other examples, but this is why we need to set term limits and do there things that we reign in the power struggle.

All of the bills passed today are passed to the benefit of congress members.
