As Christians we have to determine who is the enemy of God and His plan. First we have to realize and believe God spoke this Universe into existence. We believe one of the descendance of Adam and Eve was Jesus the Christ. His birth and crucifixion was predicted over many hundreds of year to verify His birth when it happened.
During this time Moses was given the Ten Commandment which are the basis of most of our laws. However, those commandments get lost in many aspects of our laws. We voters let that happen over and over. This is what I would like to address.
- Worship no God but Me.
This is one of the most important commandments that is ignored by us Christians every day. Every time we think about something being more important that our God. We break that commandment.
For instance having money, ever a lot of money, is not sinful, but the love of money is a sin committed by many of us. Even many persons in the bible had wealth taken away and wealth given. God can do anything so we should depend on Him more and more and less on our ability.
Putting anything before God is a sinful thought. He has made us a steward of this planet. Both physically and politically we have we have put the planet and people God loves in Jeopardy.
God knew that we could not keep His commandments even though we try, so He sent His son to bare our shortcomings on the cross. Jesus said no one goes to the Father except through me. That means all other religions are based on a lie perpetuated by Satin. Even Islam who recognizes Jesus as a profit and the Jewish religion who fail to recognize Jesus as their profits predicted are not worshiping the Christian God.
- Do not make for yourselves images of anything in heaven or on earth or in the water under the under the earth. Do not bow down to any idol or worship it, because I am the Lord you God and I tolerate no rivals. I bring punishment on those who hate me and their descendants down to the third and fourth generation. But I show my love to thousands of generations of those who love me and obey my laws.
This one is a little complicated to understand. There a symbols all around us. They are sports, politics, power, and many other things that we value more than our Christian duties. How we handle those things shows the degree of worship we have for the almighty.
The devotion we show to things that are not of God is okay if it doesn’t overshadow the devotion we have for God. Golf is a good sport that many have. Would we play golf instead of attending church? That is a question many should ask. Would we miss church to go to a ball game on Sunday? How do we feel about power, politics, media, and many things we face every day? These are the ideas we should dwell on as they occur every day.
- Do not use my name for evil purposes, for I, the Lord your God, will punish anyone who misuses my name.
God’s name should never be used unless you are addressing God or talking about Him. Damning something or someone in God’s name is a violation of the third commandment. This is a very common sin that we tolerate every day.
- Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy. You have six days in which to do your work. But the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to me. On that day you will do no work – either you, your children, your slaves, your animals, not the foreigners who live in our country. In six I the Lord, made the earth, the sky, the seas, and everything in them, but on the seventh day I rested. That is why I the Lord blessed the sabbath and made it holy.
We used to have a “blue law” which gradually was replaced by our social activities. Now we don’t even recognize Sunday except the few of us that go to church on a regular basis. Our worship of God and Jesus is secondary to our duty as Christians.
- Respect your father and your mother, so that you may live a long time in the land that I am giving you.
Respect and honor is not as relevant in our lives as it should be. We see every day the young not respecting and honoring their parents or the elderly wisdom of the people trying to give wisdom.
- Do not commit murder.
Thou shall not kill is not the sixth commandment. Murder is expressly mentioned. We kill to protect ourselves and our country. Anything more than that is forbidden.
7.Do not commit adultery.
Self explanatory.
- Do not steal.
Self explanatory.
- Do not accuse anyone falsely.
Take responsibility for anything you say about anyone. This can cover the our thinking concerning race or social standings of another person. Many times we make decisions based on nothing but race or social standing ignoring the real qualities of the person.
- Do not desire another man’s house; do not desire his wife, his slaves, his cattle, his donkeys, or anything else that he owns.
This is something which everyone is guilty. We see something someone else owns and we want one like it. That is not a sin, but when we want someone else’s thing that they own, jealousy takes possession of our mind and that becomes a sin.
These Ten Commandments are to govern our lives in that they should guide our approach to life. None of us can keep all ten all the time, but the leaders of our county, state, and federal government should consider these commandments when they make laws.
Throughout our nation’s history the rich have been allowed to step on the less fortunate workers. The unions helped but now, through negotiations we gave union workers earning exuberant salaries while non union workers just survive on much less.
We let people from other nations come here and protest against our life style and our laws trying to get us to think like them. We let them protest while wearing a mask in many cases. It they really wanted to make a statement they should be proud enough of their cause to show themselves.
Our tax system is messed up letting the people and companies that built the amenities of this great nation avoid paying taxes to keep up what they built.
Now we come to killing unborn babies. This is murder. If a woman does not want children, they should take proper precautions. A child should only be lost to save the mother’s life.
God gave this land to a Christian people and our forefathers we wise enough to not make it a police state of religion declaring that everyone could worship as they saw fit. Therefore, the government could not enforce any religion on its citizens. Now the devil has infiltrated our government to declare our forefather mean separation of church and state. That is not in the constitution, but our supreme court says it is. However our bible makes it clear that becoming a Christian is a choice we have to make a individuals.
We have a democratic platform which will be adopted this week and this whole statement will be ignored.
